Registration is now open for SIOP’s 5th annual Leading Edge Consortium (LEC), “Leading Edge of Selection and Assessment in a Global Setting.”

As large and small organizations engage in business and compete for talent around the world, managing selection and assessment processes requires a global perspective. The 2009 LEC will bring together expert advice and business leaders to address how to design and implement selection processes on the scale of a globally integrated enterprise.
This year’s consortium will be held October 16-17 at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Tech Center in Denver with a central location near downtown and the airport. SIOP has also been able to secure an exceptional room rate of $135 per night for the consortium.

On Friday, July 17, 2009, a new subtitle was added to the House Tri-Committee Health Care Reform (HCR) bill, H.R. 3200, American’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, which establishes a Mental and Behavioral Health Training Program. This effort was spear-headed by Congressman Gene Green (D-TX) with support from Congressman Tim Murphy (R-PA) who with Congressman Green introduced H.R. 2066, the Graduate Psychology Education Act of 2009. Other co-sponsors include Congresswomen Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Mary Bono Mack (R-CA).
