Celebrating our Science and Practice!

This is our time! Our time to celebrate who we are and what we do! Over 4,000 of us!  Welcome and enjoy!

There are many opportunities to celebrate at this year’s annual conference. The program is full of opportunities to listen to the best of our science and practice. We have our traditional topics as well as emerging ones, and we hope you will take full advantage of what this event has to offer.

We ave twoTheme Tracks again this year. The Thursday Theme Track will be on the topic of “Managing HR for Environmental Sustainability” and will include a keynote address titled “A Journey in Environmental Sustainability” by Dominique Conseil, President, Aveda Corporation. The Saturday Theme Track will be on the topic of “Using Data to Influence Organizational Decisions and Strategy” and will include a closing keynote session and wrap-up session called “People Analytics: Is It All in Our Heads?” presented by John Boudreau, University of Southern California. We also have several invited and Community of Interest sessions. Check the SIOP program for a complete list of all SIOP has to offer.

Also, be sure to tune into our closing plenary keynote speaker Robert Cialdini, who will discuss his Principles of Influence, followed by the closing reception. The reception will be “speakeasy” themed and include live music. It’s a can’t miss ending to the conference week.

New this year, we have an online mobile planner. You can access the conference program and your personal schedule from your smartphone. Simply scan one of the QR codes you will find printed on conference materials or go directly to m.conference.siop.org.

In closing, I hope every year from now on we celebrate who we are and what we do.  Every SIOP Conference should be a celebration!  Thank you for the opportunity and honor to be your President. Thanks to my Executive Board, a magnificent set of very motivated colleagues who care a lot about our profession.  When you see them around, thank them!
