The SIOP Electronic Communications Committee will be hosting a special online guest on the Exchange Thursday, August 30. One of SIOP's 2012 Leading Edge Consortium speakers, Anna Clark, will be online live from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. CST to answer questions and respond to comments in response to her blog post regarding environmental sustainability in the workplace. Anyone interested in the topic of environmental sustainability at work is invited to read the post, which will be published Thursday morning, and leave comments or questions for Clark.
Anna Clark is the author of Green, American Style and the president of EarthPeople, a sustainability communications firm. Since 2005, Anna has created and executed branding, corporate social responsibility, and public relations strategies for resource-conscious organizations including JCPenney, Inc., The Salvation Army, Gardere Law Firm, and the City of Austin. A featured columnist for Greenbiz.com, Anna’s ideas have appeared in The Guardian, The Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, Huffington Post, and The Dallas Morning News.
Before orienting her career toward specialized communications, Anna was a management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM. Anna holds a B.A. in government from UT Austin. In January, she will begin graduate studies through Johns Hopkins University, researching ways to use new media to shape public opinion. Anna lives with her family in one of the first residences in Dallas to earn a Platinum LEED-certified rating from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Clark’s blog post will be published Thursday morning, so stay tuned! Some of the questions she is hoping to help answer for readers include:
• What are the necessary components of a credible sustainability strategy or program?
• What tools are available for different types of organizations?
• What benefits do they bring?
• How much do they cost?
• What are the challenges for implementation?
